Managing Orders

Issue a full or partial refund

How to refund an attendee, when refunds are automatic, and how MeGoShow’s buyer protection policy interacts with organizer-initiated refunds.

When refunds happen automatically

Event cancellation: If you cancel an event through your organizer dashboard, MeGoShow automatically initiates a full refund to every ticket holder within 24 hours. You don't need to process these individually.

Platform buyer protection: If a ticket is flagged under MeGoShow's buyer protection policy (verified fraud, event that did not take place as listed), MeGoShow may initiate a refund independently.

Issuing a manual refund

  1. Go to your Organizer Dashboard → Orders
  2. Search for the order by name, email, or order number
  3. Click into the order and select Refund
  4. Choose Full refund or Partial refund
  5. Add a note (optional — visible to your team, not the buyer)
  6. Confirm

The refund is processed immediately. Buyers typically see the credit on their account within 5–10 business days.

What gets refunded

Full refund: The buyer receives the complete amount they paid, including the MeGoShow service fee. The Stripe payment processing fee is non-recoverable — this is a Stripe constraint applied to all payment processors.

Partial refund: You specify the amount. The service fee portion is refunded proportionally.

Setting your refund policy

You can configure your refund policy per event before tickets go on sale:

  • No refunds — purchases are final
  • Refunds up to X days before the event
  • Refunds with X% fee
  • Custom policy — write your own terms

Your refund policy is shown to buyers on your event page and at checkout. Regardless of your policy, MeGoShow's platform buyer protection applies independently for cases of fraud or event non-delivery.

Cancelled or postponed events

Cancelled events: Full refunds are automatically issued to all ticket holders. Your configured refund policy does not override this.

Postponed events: Ticket holders are automatically notified with the new date. They are given a window to request a full refund if the new date doesn't work for them.
