Managing Orders

Issue a full or partial refund

How to refund an attendee, when refunds are automatic, and how MeGoShow's buyer protection policy interacts with organizer-initiated refunds.

When refunds happen automatically

Event cancellation

When you cancel an event through the dashboard, all eligible ticket holders receive a full automatic refund. A notification is sent to buyers immediately.

Platform buyer protection

MeGoShow's buyer protection policy may trigger automatic refunds in verified fraud cases or when an event is materially misrepresented. See the Buyer Protection Policy for details.

Issuing a manual refund

1

In your organizer dashboard, go to Orders.

2

Search for the attendee by name, email, or order number.

3

Open the order and click Refund.

4

Choose Full refund or Partial refund. For a partial refund, enter the exact amount to return.

5

Add an optional note to the buyer explaining the refund.

6

Click Confirm refund. The refund is processed immediately and the buyer receives an email confirmation.

Setting your refund policy

You can configure your event's refund policy in Event settings → Refund policy. Four options are available:

No refunds

All sales are final. Buyers are shown this policy before checkout.

Refunds up to X days before event

Buyers can request a full refund up to your specified number of days before the event date.

Refunds up to 48 hours after purchase

Buyers have a short window after purchase to change their mind.

Organizer discretion

No automatic refund policy shown. Refunds are handled case-by-case via your dashboard.

Refund policy for cancelled or postponed events

Cancelled event

All eligible buyers receive an automatic full refund. The service fee is returned. The Stripe processing fee is non-recoverable.

Postponed event

When you postpone and update the event date, a refund window opens for buyers. Tickets automatically transfer to the new date for buyers who don't request a refund within the window.

Troubleshooting

Buyer hasn't received their refund

Refunds appear in the original payment method within 5–10 business days depending on the buyer's bank. The refund will show in your dashboard as processed immediately.

Can't find the order to refund

Use the Orders search with the buyer's email address or order ID. Orders from re-sold or transferred tickets may appear under the transferee's name.

Need to issue refunds to all attendees at once

Use the event cancellation flow (Event settings → Cancel event) to trigger bulk automatic refunds rather than processing them individually.
